Safe4Life Driver Training provides a hign level of driver training to its customers in the hope they will continue to use the skills and knowledge obtained during their training course throughout the rest of their driving life, and not just to perform for an examiner on a driving test. Our aim is to educate and develop trainees to create safer drivers for the roads in the future.
Under 17′s Driving Lessons Dudley
The Under 17′s driving course provides an excellent opportunity to teenagers to begin gaining valuable knowledge and skills in controlling and handling a car in a safe, controlled environment before going onto the roads. It takes away the pressure of other drivers around and lets them get used to driving their own car in their own time without the fear of causing a problem to others.
The Training Centre
Our training centre for the Under 17′s driving course is a large area which is off the public roads, with a course laid out with cones and signs to simulate road situations. This will be continually changed to help trainees gain different skills.
There will be an area for family members or friends to view from their own cars to watch how the trainees progress.
The Course Syllabus
- Introduction and eyesight check (read vehicle number plate)
- Main controls of the car.
- How to start the car safely and steer the car.
- How to move off and make normal stops.
- How to use the mirror-signal-manouvre routine (MSM)
- Changing up and down gears.
- Approach to turn left & right from major to minor roads.
- Emerging either left or right from minor to major roads.
- Dealing with crossroads.
- All about roundabouts.
- How to do a turn in the road (3 point turn).
- How to reverse straight, left & right into a limited space.
- Reverse parking around a car (parallel parking).
- Reverse parking into bay.
- Emergency stop.
- Ancillary controls e.g lights, wipers, heaters & demisters.
- Theory knowledge and hazard perception.
Not all subjects will be completed before some trainees move onto the roads.
